1 Timothy 6:11-16

Final Charge to Timothy

¹¹ But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. ¹² Fight the good fightof the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. ¹³ In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you ¹⁴ to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁵ which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords,¹⁶ who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

An honor (David, Moses, Jeremiah…).

From earthly successes. Being entangled with this worlds standards. Pride. Sin. Self centeredness.

God. Open hands for God. God centeredness. Fruit. Wisdom. Specially: righteousness (not self righteousness), godliness (reverence, attitude of our heart), faith (Heb 11, pray for more faith, knowing His word), love (forgive, character of God himself, sacrifice, unconditional, less self), perseverance (endure, don’t quit, face the wolves and move forward, walk with Jesus is a marathon-Long obedience, finish) and gentleness (strength and power under control)

…gentleness from v 11… then – FIGHT! Fight the good fight of faith. (A defending word). We defend who God is, Jesus, his word. Who he is in our lives. His good news, the gospel. The truth! Take hold of my salvation. Count the things of this world as loss, nothing else other than Christ matters.

This is where it counts, this is what matters, the main action. Who are you faithful to? Confess Christ. Make your confession match your authenticity- live it and proclaim it. I’m a Christian, a warrior for Christ.

Knowing Jesus. Growing in our relationship with Him. Give our lives away in ministry. Make disciples. Knowing Jesus…
